The world's fashion weeks have descended on us and we have seen the end of both Paris and New York's shows. Following behind them is London with an impressive line-up showcasing the best of the UK's designer goods.
Here is a recap of New York and London's most captivating looks. New York saw a lot of black and jewel tones, with many designers choosing sleek and simple designs. Images are in order of text.
New York Fashion Week A/W12
Calvin Klein displayed a number of shades of red from coral to ruby and chose to contrast this with blacks and creams. Thick coats and dresses, leather and wools signalled the start of winter, whilst their signature style was shown through simple lines and designs.
Dianne Von Furstenberg showcased gorgeous jewel tones and amazing textures. Everything from block colours to prints was seen at DVF's show, perfect to brighten up a dreary winter's day.
Badgley Mischka channelled 1930's Hollywood with velvets, satins and furs topped off with electrocuted curls and deep berry lips. Metallics and embellishments were also seen in the show, all with a snowy winters night for a backdrop.
DKNY's show couldn't be any more New York, with the signature yellow taxi in the background and New Yorks skyline painted on the catwalk, it was all about the city of style.
London Fashion Week A/W12
Mulberry monster show was complete with two giant monsters manning the catwalk while the models strutted down wearing what looked like a lifesize Cousin It. Furs, Hairs and Black was the focus of the show, with a welcomed pop of orange every now and then.
Mochino Cheap and Chic had a fun and pink show. A relief after all the black seen in previous shows. Pastels, sequins, pom poms, furs and knits made for a very enjoyable show, reminiscent of childhood dress-ups and tea parties.
House of Holland showcased bright prints and quirky patterns. Accessories were kept to a minimum with the occasional equestrian style riding hat and a brogue style platform shoe.
Temperley London was gorgeous understated glamour. Simple shapes and designs were lifted with gorgeous fabrics and textures. Models wore Russian style fur hats.
