Lets ‘like’ nice things!

We all love facebook - and yes, its definitely one of the most effective means of communication these days. However, where do we draw the line? This article we came across outlines the issues circulating the social networking tool in relation to the worlds most recent natural disaster, the Japanese tsunami.

It reads: 'In the days following the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, people have been sharing news about the aftermath, recovery efforts, and how they can help as far and wide as the Internet will allow. However, a reader brought up an issue with spreading the word using Facebook tools.

“Sentiment can be lost,” Jonathan Gardner, director of comms at Vibrant told us. A friend, he told us in an email, sent him a link to a CNN.com story with a Facebook social plug-in. Along the right side of the page, it listed stories that friends “like,” among them, one about a tsunami threat to Russia, Hawaii, and Taiwan. “No one wants to ‘like’ a tragedy,” Gardner writes.'

 

He suggests that communicators ought to be mindful of this “inappropriate sentiment” when sharing news and information across social networks.

We couldnt agree more! Compassion is certainly needed here. We prefer to stick to 'liking' all things fashion and using facebook in the carefree way it was originally intended smile

She certainly knows how to represent her brand. Always a step ahead, the Gossip Girl actress broke out spring’s whites, wearing a pristine Chanel haute couture organza frock with ruffled detailing Topped off with a classic quilted Chanel bag and emerald earrings. The star looked picture perfect adn epitomised the classy, fabulous image that Chanel is known for.

This gets our vote for campaign of the moment! We've chosen our favorite, which ones yours?

IPad2 .. could you already be outdated!?

Although the IPad2 launched this week and the hype surrounding it, as expected, is phenomenal - after just two days official Apple stores and resellers across Australia are sold out and many don't know when they'll receive more stock, leaving hundreds of customers disappointed. Queues outside the flagship store on George Street were already backing up at 10pm the night before the launch. However, despite the excitement and the hype surrounding this latest piece of technology, one rumour suggests that Apple may be set to preview the iOS 5 software at the upcoming WWDC conference – ahead of the unexpected release of an iPad 3 in the Australian Spring.

So could the IPad 2 be outdated before its even been born?! Its hard to keep up!
